Rising to fame with their 2004 critically acclaimed, debut album 'Funeral', Arcade Fire solidified their existence as one of the world's greatest indie rock bands of all time. The Canadian sextet are fronted by husband/wife duo Win Butler and Régine Chassagne whilst being joined by William Butler, Richard Reed Parry, Tim Kingsbury and Jeremy Gara. As of yet, Arcade Fire have enjoyed the success of four albums, but their fifth album 'Everything Now' is due for release on 28th July. Going back to the start though, 'Funeral', which propelled the band to fame was acclaimed as a "major internet phenomenon" due to its lack of major label backing. Their second album 'Neon Bible' was released in a more obscure fashion when their website went live and contained just the phone number 1-866-NEONBIBLE in which people could ring and hear their latest track (at the time) called 'Intervention'. Following this, the band went on to release their third album 'The Suburbs' in 2010 which sold over 175,000 copies in the first week alone. Arcade Fire's fourth album 'Reflektor' was released in late 2013 and the band had worked on it with LCD Soundsystem's, James Murphy. At this time, the band announced that they would be selling the church in which they used as a studio due to the fact it had a collapsed roof. Arcade Fire have consistently toured across the globe and can be recognised from their formal stage attire as well as their spell-binding tracks. With an experimental range of orchestral instruments in use throughout their music, it's no wonder that the band have charmed so many over the years. With the brand new album 'Everything Now' and a huge tour on the way, Arcade Fire are most certainly a band you definitely cannot miss live this year.
